M25 and M11, Temporary Overnight Road Closures

M25 AND M11 MOTORWAYS TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 and M11 Motorways, and connecting roads in the Counties of Essex and Hertfordshire, the London Boroughs of Redbridge and Enfield and the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closure of: -
1. the London-bound carriageway of the M11 between Junction 6 (M25 Junction 27) and Junction 4 (A406);
2. the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 30 (A13) and Junction 25 (A10);
3. the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 26 (A121) and Junction 30 (A13); and
4. all slip and link roads leading to and from these lengths of carriageway.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier, carriageway, drainage, electrical, bridge, inspections and investigations, geotechnical and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 11 months starting on or after Monday 18th April 2022. The overnight closures would take place between (maximum period):
Monday - Thursdays 22:00 - 05:30
Fridays 23:00 - 06:00
Saturdays 22:00 - 06:00
Sundays 22:30 - 05:30
The Order would come into force on 16th April 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closure would be diverted via other junctions of the M11 and the M25 or by using the A10, A12, A104, A121, A127, A128 and the A406.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
