PROPOSED TYNE AND WEAR QUALITY CONTRACT SCHEME (QCS) FOR BUSES REQUEST TO QCS BOARD FOR ADVICE PUBLIC NOTICE UNDER SECTION 126B OF THE TRANSPORT ACT 2000

This notice is to advise all interested parties that the QCS Board convened under section 126A of the Transport Act 2000 has provided procedural advice in relation to the proposed Tyne and Wear QCS in accordance with section 126B(2) of the Transport Act 2000 separately to Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP (on behalf of Go North East) and Herbert Smith Freehills LLP (on behalf of Stagecoach Group PLC). In summary, the QCS Board was requested to provide its view on whether the Board will appoint economic and/or legal assistance, the structure, format and timings of any oral hearings, how the confidentiality of evidence provided to the Board will be protected if appropriate and whether an interim report will be produced. The Board has issued a separate response to both parties setting out how the Board proposes to proceed if asked to perform its functions. A copy of the requests for advice and that given is available from the Board on request. Any person has the right to request advice from the board about matters of a procedural nature. Details of the person(s) requesting advice and the details of the advice given will be published.
