Pre-application Public Consultation Proposed planning application for the Gately Moor Solar Farm, a proposed photovoltaic and battery energy storage development on land south of Gately Moor Reservoir, near Redmarshall,
Stockton-on-Tees Pegasus Group would like to announce the start of the public consultation for the "Gately Moor Solar Farm", a 49.99MW solar energy project with associated battery storage. The proposals will also include underground cabling from the proposed solar farm to the Norton National Grid substation located to the east of Redmarshall and Carlton. This planning application is currently being prepared on behalf of the developers, Novergy and Canadian Solar. The development will provide clean and sustainable renewable energy for approximately 14,000 homes which will contribute towards the UK's much needed energy independence as well as Stockton-on-Tees and Darlington Borough Council's ambitions to take action to mitigate the impact of climate change and reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, the proposal will promote biodiversity and wildlife, strengthen hedgerows, create jobs and provide a community benefit fund. An online pre-application public consultation is taking place between Monday 28th March 2022 and Wednesday April 20th 2022, to seek the views of the local community on the current proposals. Comments submitted by the local community and stakeholders will be taken into account in shaping the final proposals. Further details can be found at
