(Providence Row, Wearside Drive, Ferens Close, Ferens Park & Orchard Drive, Durham City) (20 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2021

The Council on 18 March 2022 made an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 & 87 and part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 "the Act"), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 31 March 2022 and is to introduce 20mph speed limit on a) the entire length of Wearside Drive, Ferens Close, Ferens Park and Orchard Drive b) part length of Providence Row From a point adjacent to St Nicholas Church Youth Club in an easterly direction for 8 metres to a point adjacent to No.57 Ferens Park. Full details are contained in the Order and can be inspected via the Council website and at Durham Qayport Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by "the Act", as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 24 March 2022 apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
