THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES (KEW) (PARKING PLACES) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2022

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on 23 March 2022 made the above Orders under sections 9 and 10 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order will come into operation on 4 April 2022.

2. The general effect of the Order is to extend the operational days/hours of the parking spaces along a section of Kew Road between the junctions of Mortlake Road and Kew Gardens Road to 10am to 4.30pm, Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays) and to introduce 90 minutes maximum stay, pay by phone only parking outside the Maids of Honour.

3. Copies of particulars giving more details of the scheme : -

(a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 22/090, at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and

(b) may be viewed on the Council's web-site at

4. In pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the Assistant Director, Traffic and Engineering of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, as the specified officer, or some person authorised in that behalf by that officer may, if it appears to that officer or to that person essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic, or of the provision of suitable and adequate parking facilities on the highway, or for preserving or improving the amenities of the areas through which the roads affected by the Order runs, modify or suspend the Order or any provision thereof.

5. If the provisions of the Order continue in operation for a period of not less than six months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of an Order under section 6 of the said Act of 1984. Persons wishing to object to or support the making of such an Order for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the period of six months referred to above (i.e. by 7 October 2022. send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds of that objection to the adder s below.

7. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES (FREE PARKING PLACES) (PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES) (AMENDMENT No. **) ORDER 202*
DISABLED PERSONS PARKING BAYS VARIOUS STREETS THROUGHOUT THE BOROUGH

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames propose to make the above Order under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The principal objective of the Disabled Persons' Parking Places Order is to introduce a number of parking places for disabled persons where a high level of parking makes reasonable means of access difficult, and to discontinue a number of parking places previously provided where the demand for such bays no longer exists.

3. The Disabled Persons' Parking Places Order will introduce a parking bay for disabled persons' vehicles, operating "at any time" in the following streets:

Belmont Road, Twickenham
Bicester Road, Richmond
Broughton Avenue, Ham
Cambridge Crescent, Teddington
Chaucer Avenue, Richmond
Colonial Avenue, Whitton
Cowper Road, Richmond
Glebe Road, Barnes
Glendower Road, East Sheen
Manor Grove, Richmond
Malvern Road, Hampton
Observatory Road, East Sheen
Richmond Road, Kingston

4. The Disabled Persons' Parking Places Order will also revoke the existing parking bays for disabled persons' vehicles in the vicinity of the following properties: -

6.
