NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley on 22nd March 2022 made the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 9, 10 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) which will come into operation on 2nd April 2022.
The effect of the Orders will be to prohibit vehicles, except pedal cycles and permitted vehicles, from entering into or proceeding in the lengths of roads (School Streets), during the prohibited hours, as specified in the Schedule to this notice. Restrictions will be physically enforced with traffic signs and the installation of moveable barriers, managed by nominated members of school staff.
The Orders provide that in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the delegated authority of the London Borough of Bromley, or some person authorised in that behalf, may if it appears essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the Orders or any provision thereof.
The scheme will be reviewed after being in operation for six months and if successful may be made permanent under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Any person wishing to object to the indefinite continuation of the Orders, may, within a period of six months from the day on which the experimental Orders comes into force, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Executive Director of Environment and Public Protection, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, Kent BR1 3UH, quoting reference ADE(TP)RP/T100/719, or by emailing

Copies of the Orders, the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, together with a plan showing the location and the effect of the Orders may be inspected by emailing traffic@bromley.
during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, throughout the period that it is in force.
ANY person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act or that any requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
