Somerset County Council in exercise of Its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Temporary Road Closures: SM-04/22 - RS005918 - A371 Cross Lane in the parish of Compton Bishop; from the junction with the A38 Turnpike Road and Bridgwater Road to 310 metres from the junction with the A38 Turnpike Road and Bridgwater Road, a total distance of 310 metres.
SM-04/22 - RS005919 - A371 Upper New Road and Axbridge Road in the parish of Cheddar; from A371 Upper New Road, 585 metres northwards from the junction with Round Oak Road & Holwell Lane to A371 Axbridge Road, 620 metres northwards from Round Oak Road & Holwell Lane, a total distance of 35 metres. SM-04/22 - RS005920 -A38 Dunball roundabout and A38 Bristol Road In the parish of Purlton; from A38 Bristol Road, 130 metres from the junction with the A38 Dunball roundabout (A38 Bristol Road north-west In-bound carriageway towards the A38 Dunball roundabout only) to A38 Dunball roundabout (including the whole roundabout), a total distance of 350 metres. SM-04/22 - RS005921 - A38 Monmouth Street and Broadway in the parish of Bridgwater; 85 metres from the junction with the A38 Cross Rifles roundabout to 35 metres southwards from the junction with St John Street, a total distance of 255 metres.
SM-04/22 - RS005922 - A39 Homberg Way in the parish of Bridgwater; from 55 metres south-westwards from the junction with the B3339 Wembdon Rise to 65 metres north-eastwards from the junction with the B3339 Wembdon Rise, a total distance of 120 metres.
SM-04/22 - RS005820 - B3141 Woolavington Hill and Lockswell in the parish of Woolavington; from B3141 Woolavington Hill, 35 metres southwards from the junction with Combe Lane to B3141 Lockswell, 5 metres northwards from the junction with Vicarage Road & Higher Road, a total distance of 165 metres.
SM-04/22 - RS005823 - Orchard Road, Penn Way and Knightstone Close in the parish of Axbridge; from Orchard Road, junction with Jubilee Road to No. 62 Knightstone Close, a total distance of 450 metres.
SM-04/22 - RS005828 - Parrett Way in the parish of Bridgwater; from the junction with Tone Drive to 60 metres northwards from the junction with Tone Drive, a total distance of 60 metres. SM-04/22 - RS005924 - Bell Lane in the parish of Cossington; from 165 metres southwards from the junction with Combe Lane to 345 metres southwards from the junction with Combe Lane, a total distance of 180 metres. SM-04/22 - RS005925 - Curry pool Lane in the parish of Spaxton; from the junction with the A39 Cannington Road to 355 metres from the junction with the A39 Cannington Road, a total distance of 355 metres.
This Order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out phased preparation works and resurfacing works. The Order becomes effective on 22nd March 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The phased works are expected to commence any time after 1st April 2022. Please visit
