TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 17" day of March 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1) & (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) & (8).
(1) VARIOUS ROADS. YORK This Order prohibits, where necessary, vehicles from waiting at any time in the whole or in any length of a road within the jurisdiction of the Council (restricted road) between such times and on such dates as shall be determined by the Council in order to safely and effectively carry out litter control and street cleaning, such times and dates to be notified in writing to occupiers of premises adjacent to those restricted roads not less than 48 hours before the said prohibition comes into effect and by Notices displayed on-street within the restricted roads not less than 24 hours before the prohibition comes into effect. The Order will not apply to waiting by emergency vehicles in an emergency nor to vehicles being used for undertaking street works. The Order will, during its period of validity, enable the Council to carry out litter control and street cleaning works progressively on a street by street basis throughout its area of jurisdiction. The temporary prohibition of waiting will only be implemented in those instances where standing vehicles would otherwise obstruct the undertaking of those works and will be removed on their completion. It is intended that the Order will commence on 21 st March 2022 and expire on 21st September 2023.
(2) TOWTHORPE MOOR LANE. TOWTHORPE This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Towthorpe Moor Lane, Towthorpe between its junction with Strensall Road and a location approximately 1700 metres east of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on Friday, 25 March 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Saturday, 26 March 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) EASTERN TERRACE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Eastern Terrace, York between its junctions with East Parade and Wood Street (closed road) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Sunday, 27 March 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Sunday, 27 March 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) NORTH LANE. HUNTINGTON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and wailing in that length of road on North Lane, Huntington between the roundabout controlled junction with the A1237 and the junction with the A64 Matton Road (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on Monday, 28 March 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Friday, 08 April 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between the hours of 1930hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) THE SHAMBLES & PAVEMENT. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on The Shambles, York between its junction with Pavement and the projected southern boundary of property No 28 (closed road) during the period when building survey works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on Monday, 28 March 2022 and ending at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally all vehicles & pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding and waiting in that length of the footway on the northern side of Pavement between its junctions with Parliament Street and The Shambles (closed footway). It is envisaged that the works will be completed in one night only during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(6) ALDWARK. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Aldwark, York between its junctions with St. Andrewgate and Hunt Court (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 28 March 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 22 April 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(7) LAYERTHORPE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on the south-eastern side of Layerthorpe, York between a location 12 metres north east of the junction with Foss Islands Road and a location 85 metres north east of said junction (closed footway) during the period when building works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 28 March 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Saturday, 20 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be earned out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(8) CLIFTON INGS NATIONAL CYCLE NETWORK ROUTE NO 65. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of National Cycle Network Route No 65 on Clifton Ings, York between its junction with Public Right Of Way 26/4/10 and the junction with Public Right Of Way 27/1/10 (closed cycleway) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 04 April 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Tuesday, 04 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and cyclists will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
