Concerning further information that has been submitted in respect of the Environmental Statement for the following planning application, Publicity for applications for planning permission, Notice under Article 15 (1A) of application for planning permission accompanied by an Environmental Statement, The Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015 (as amended), The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017, Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (as amended), The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Regulations 1990 (as amended), Application not in accordance with provision of the Development Plan
Application Ref:19/000053/CM Applicant: NRS
Aggregates Ltd Proposal: Proposed sand and gravel quarry with progressive restoration using site derived and imported inert material to agricultural parkland, public access and nature enhancement Location: Land at Lea Castle Farm, Wolverley Road, Broadwaters, Kidderminster, Worcestershire. I give notice that on 2 March 2022 NRS Aggregates Ltd wrote to Worcestershire County Council submitting further information in relation to the Environmental Statement regarding ecology and biodiversity (Habitat Regulations Assessment). The County Council are now seeking comments on this further information. On 10 January 2020 NRS Aggregates Ltd applied to Worcestershire County Council for planning permission for the above proposal. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement. The proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force in the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated, as the proposal is not located within an identified preferred area for sand and gravel extraction within The County of Hereford and Worcester Minerals Local Plan (April 1997), and the application site is located within the Green Belt. The development would affect Public Rights of Way and may affect the setting of Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas. The applicant is seeking planning permission to extract approximately 3 million tonnes of sand and gravel over a total of 6 phases. The land would be progressively restored using site derived and imported inert material to agricultural parkland, public access and nature enhancement. The applicant estimates the development would take approximately 11 years to complete. The County Council sought comments on the planning application between 6 February 2020 to 19 March 2020; 19 November 2020 to 4 January 2021;
and 5 August 2021 to 9 September 2021.
