THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL
(SCHOOL LANE, NEWPORT) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER NO 1 2021
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act' of 1984), the Road Traffic Act 1991 ("the Act of 1991") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To enact the provisions contained therein subject to the following amendments:
a. To introduce 'No Waiting at Any Time' in the following lengths of road:
School Lane, on the east side, from a point 52.5 metres north to a point 63.5 metres north of its junction with Royal Exchange.
The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising following the construction of a private driveway. This Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 11 March 2022. Any person who desires to question the validity of any of the said orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the said Act, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this order may, within six weeks of the date hereof, apply to the High Court for the purpose.
