WATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
(CALLOWLAND, WATFORD) (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE NA) ORDER 2020 (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for Hertfordshire County Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders pursuant to arrangements made under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 and the Local Government (Arrangements for Discharge of Functions) (England) Regulations 2000 with the Hertfordshire County Council, and in exercise of the powers conferred on that County under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 46A, 47, 49, 51, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and Part 6 of The Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act. The general effects of the Order are;

A. To extend the Permitted Hours of Watford Callowland Zone NA Permit Parking Area to Monday to Saturday 8am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm. (Currently Monday to Saturday 8am to 10am and 7pm to 10pm)

B. Increase short stay visitor permit allowance to 395 hours per annum (made up of 290 single hours, 8 x 1 days (7 hours a day) and 1 x 1 week (49 hours)).

C. Adding provision for Motor Trader Permits to be issued within the zone at the same cost as a business permit (£150).

D. Bring the cost of the resident & visitor permits (contained within the order of 2020) in line with current Watford Borough Council CPZ permit charges (No change in actual cost as the below charges have been used since the introduction of Zone NA) as per below table;

E. Adding in a new Electric/Hybrid Vehicle charging parking bay in Salisbury Road (South Side at a point 14 metres east of its junction with St Albans Road) and amending the existing no waiting at any time (double yellow line) restrictions to suit, either side of the proposed EV charging bay.

F. Amending the maximum stay limits for the disabled parking bays in Cecil Street, Judge Street & Regent Street - to put a time limit of 3 hours (no return within an hour) in place to encourage greater turnover of spaces for blue badge holders accessing the St Albans Road shopping area.

G. Amending the restricted hours of the Limited Waiting bay at the southern end of Leavesden Road (East Side -south of its junction with Copsewood Road) to "Limited Waiting: Monday to Saturday: 8:00am to 10:00pm
