Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes as follows: No.1 - To amend the controlled zone at the existing Toucan crossing and extend the existing zig zag markings in A350 Western Way as follows: a) Northern side of carriageway - centre of the crossing is at a point approximately 31 metres east of its roundabout junction with Semington Road. The controlled zone will be a distance of approximately 41 metres from the roundabout junction with Semington Road in an easterly direction; b) Southern side of carriageway -centre of the crossing is at a point approximately 35 metres east of its roundabout junction with Semington Road. The controlled zone will cover a distance of approximately 65 metres from the roundabout junction with Semington Road in an easterly direction. No.2 - To change the status of the existing Zebra Crossing in Semington Road to become a "Parallel Crossing" (a combined pedestrian and cycle crossing which has priority over the road which it crosses) as follows: Centre of the crossing is at a point approximately 15 metres north of the access to Melksham Mobile Home Park (centre). The controlled zone will cover a distance of approximately 41 metres from the roundabout junction with the A350 in a southerly direction. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Hilperton Road (Part), Hilperton and Trowbridge; from its roundabout junction with Elizabeth Way to approximately 60m north east of its roundabout junction with The Halve to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out road pavement resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via A361 - A350 - A363 -A361 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 - 25 March 2022 and 28 - 30 March 2022 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 00:00. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Dursley Road (Part), Heywood; from its junction with Norleaze for approximately 150m in a south easterly direction to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out refurbishment to rail bridge and associated works. Alternative route via Dursley Road (unaffected length) - B3097 - A363 - A350 - Church Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 March 2022 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 18 March 2022. C) South Street, Corsham; from its junction with Grove Road to its junction with Station Road to enable Gigaclear Limited to carry out excavation work to lay fibre optic cabals. This Order which previously came into operation on 17 May 2021 will now recommence on 01 March 2022 and the closure will be required until 07 March 2022. Orders A) and B) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order C) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
