THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A684 LONG LANE, SEDBERGH AND HAGGS LANE, CARTMEL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Network Plus to carry out works for cable installations ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. A684 Long Lane, Sedbergh, from its junction with lane ends road extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 80m.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A684, A683, Wiseber Brow, B6259 and the A684. (Ref: SL21/668).

2. Haggs Lane, Cartmel, from its junction with Headless Cross, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of approx. 150m. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Haggs Lane, Cartmel Road, Kents Bank Road, Allithwaite Road, Holme Lane, Market Street, Station Road and Headless Cross. (Ref: SL2I/667).



A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and



(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from die roads; and

(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 14 March 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 4 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
