ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (TOWCESTER TO WEEDON BEC, WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited
(Company No. 9346363) has made an Order on the A5 Trunk Road between
Towcester and Weedon Bec, in the County of West Northamptonshire,
to enable resurfacing, road markings, stud replacement and vegetation
clearance works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to -
(1) close the A5 between its roundabout junction with the A43 and Towcester Road, at Towcester, and its roundabout junction with the A45, near Weedon Bec;

(2) close any layby situated adjacent to the length of the A5 described in (1) above; and

(3) prohibit vehicles from entering or leaving the length of the A5 described in (1) above at its junction with any side road.

The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 7 March 2022 and continue for two weeks. The Order will come into force on 28 February 2022. Any vehicle being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and any vehicle being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures and prohibition. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Diversion routes via the A43, the A5123, the A5076, the A4500 and the A45 and vice versa will be signed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an Order on the A43 Trunk Road between Towcester and Rothersthorpe, and the A5 Trunk Road between Heathencote and Weedon Bec, in the County of West Northamptonshire, to enable resurfacing, road markings, stud replacement and various other works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to, at different times, -
(1) close the southbound carriageway of the A43 from its roundabout junction with the A5123 at Rothersthorpe, to its roundabout junction with the A5 and Towcester Road, at Towcester (Towcester Roundabout);

(2) close the northbound carriageway of the A43 from its roundabout junction with Brackley Road and Abthorpe Road, at Towcester (Abthorpe Roundabout), to Towcester Roundabout;

(3) close lengths of Towcester Roundabout;

(4) close the A5 between its roundabout junction with Epsom Avenue, near Heathencote, and Towcester Roundabout;

(5) close the A5 between Towcester Roundabout, and its roundabout junction with the A45, near Weedon Bec;

(6) close any gap in the central reservation of the lengths of the A43 described in (1) and (2) above;

(7) close any layby situated adjacent to the lengths of carriageway described in (1), (2), (4) and (5) above;

(8) close the footway adjacent to -

(a) the northbound carriageway of the A5 from a point 90 metres southeast of Towcester Roundabout, to its junction with Towcester Roundabout;
(b)the southbound carriageway of the A5 from a point 503 metres northwest of Towcester Roundabout, to its junction with Towcester Roundabout;
(c) the southbound carriageway of the A5 from its junction with Towcester Roundabout, to a point 110 metres southeast of Towcester Roundabout; and
(d)the southbound carriageway of the A43 between points 3840 metres and 1620 metres northeast of Towcester Roundabout;
(9) prohibit vehicles from entering or leaving the lengths of carriageway described in (1), (2), (4) and (5) above at the junction with any side road.

The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 7 March 2022 and continue for six weeks. The layby closures will be in operation from 06:00 hours on Monday 7 March 2022, for 24 hours per day, for the duration of the works. The Order will come into force on 28 February 2022. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures and prohibition. Pedestrians engaged in police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance activities or activities connected with the works will be exempt from the footway closures. Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Diversion routes via the A508, the M40, the M1, the A45, the A5076, the A5123, the A4500, the A422, the A413 and the A421 will be signed.
