(Hammer Square Bank and Cranberry Bog Road, Beamish)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) and pursuant to arrangements made with the Borough Council of Gateshead under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 790 metres Hammer Square Bank and Cranberry Bog Road between its junctions with the access road to Hammer Square House and access to Beamish Holiday Park, Beamish to enable telecom pole testing works to be undertaken. Alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic under 14 foot 3 inches from the south western side of the closure from Hammer Square Bank south easterly and easterly on Station Road and New Road then northwards on C4 to the junction with Cranberry Bog Road to the north eastern side of the closure, and vice versa. No diversion route will be signed for vehicles greater than 14 foot 3 inches. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 10/3/22 from 9.30am and are anticipated to be completed in 6 hours. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
