Temporary Closure of Netherhay Lane, Drimpton
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along NETHERHAY LANE, DRIMPTON between B3162 Chard Road and a distance approximately 100 metres north. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 February 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 March 2022
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to connect to an existing water main. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: Crewkerne Road - B3162. From ST 47990098, north of the property 16A Southgate, west south west, passing along the north side of the river to the unaffected part of Footpath 58 at ST 47900095. (No recorded width). Adding to them:

From its junction with Bridport Road (A3066), north east of the property South Lodge at ST 47970094, west north west along a gravel surfaced path, passing to the north of South Lodge to ST 47960094 and continuing west north west to ST 47940095. Then generally west south west along a stone/earth surfaced path, passing along the south side of the river to ST 47900094 and continuing north west, crossing the river, to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 58 at ST 47900095. The width varies: 7 metres at ST 47970094,3.95 metres at ST 47960094 and narrowing to 1.5 metres at ST 47940095 and 1.2 metres between ST 47900094 and ST 47900095. The effect of the order as confirmed will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them part of Footpath 57, Beaminster from its junction with Bridport Road (A3066) at ST 48010098, north west and north along a tarmac surfaced path (known as Hams), walled on both sides, to the unaffected part of Footpath 57, east of 6 Southgate at ST 48000100. The width varies: 1.5 metres at ST 48010098, between 1.45 metres and 1.6 metres between ST 48010098 and ST 48000100,1.5 metres at ST 48000100.
