Yorkshire Burnmoor Graziers have applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Burn Moor Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.The proposed works are: (i) 1044 metre length of fencing along the Mewith Lane boundary; (ii) a cattle grid on a track off Mewith Lane to West Borronhead.The works and the fencing will be located near the northern boundary of the common. The permanent fencing will be 1.05 metres high post and galvanised wire, with four stiles and the existing access. Where a Public Right of Way exists along the track, an alternative route will be provided around the cattle grid construction.A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Davis & Bowring, 6 & 8 Main Street, Kirkby Lonsdale, Carnforth, Lancashire, LA6 2AE during normal office hours until the third day of February 2014.
