Notice is hereby given that the above order made by Essex County Council under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has been continued in force tor an additional 6 months with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 21 July 2022.
Effect of the order To Introduce a 20mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in the Borough of Colchester. The roads below had a temporary 20mph speed applied as part of
the initial response to the Covid-19 pandemic, to promote active travel and encourage sustainable forms of transport. (Various Roads, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) & (Temporary Introduction of Clearway) (No.1) Order 2022
Notice Is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Colchester as specified in the schedule.
2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of road as detailed in the schedule.
3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the restriction will be in force.
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths Df roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd February 2022 exact dates will be specified on Dne.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th February 2022 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03159605168/1 - Anglian Water).
