ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ('the Council') has on 5 January 2022 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when they come into operation on 17 January 2022 will make permanent the following changes:
Brighton & Hove Various Controlled Parking Zones Consolidation Order 2018 Amendment Order No.1 2022 (TRO-14b-2020)
- Reduced and relocated shared parking on Kingsway in Zones M & N
- Removed and relocated motorcycle bays on Kingsway in Zone M and Kings Road.
Brighton & Hove Seafront (Various Restrictions) Consolidation Order 2018 Amendment Order No.1 2022 (TRO-14C-2020)
- Reduced and relocated paid parking on Kings Road.
- Relocated disabled bays and loading bays on Kings Road
- Relocated loading bay and taxi rank on Marine Parade and remove small section of paid parking.
- Reinstated double yellow lines on sections of cycle lane
Brighton & Hove Outer Areas (Waiting, Loading and Parking) and Cycle Lanes Consolidation Order 2018 Amendment Order No.1 2022 (TRO-14d-2020)
- New mandatory cycle lanes on south side of King's Road and Kingsway
The changes described above were originally the subject of an experimental traffic order that was advertised on 17th July 2020; Brighton & Hove (A259 Grand Junction Road, Kings Road and Kingsway) Various Restrictions Experimental Order 2020 (Ref: TRO-14-2020) and its subsequent amendment Order; Brighton & Hove (A259 Grand Junction Road, Kings Road and Kingsway) (Various Restrictions) Experimental Order 2020 Amendment Order No. 1 2020 that was advertised on 2nd October 2020.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of either of these Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
