THE MARINE AND COASTAL ACCESS ACT 2009 AND THE MARINE WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 (as amended)

APPLICATION FOR MARINE LICENCE

Notice is hereby given that CEMEX UK Marine Ltd (Baltic Wharf, Marine Parade, Southampton, SO14 5JF) has supplied supplementary environmental information to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) to support their application to undertake a regulated activity under Part 4 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. CEMEX UK Marine Ltd has applied for a 15 year marine licence to extract 3,000,000 tonnes from Area 466, with a proposed extraction of no more than 600,000 tonnes in any calendar year. Aggregate Extraction Area 466 is located approximately 150km from the north-east coast of England. The co-ordinates of the application area are as follows (WGS84): 55° 09.0077' N 001° 26.3200' E 55° 09.2577' N 001° 28.1032' E 55° 08.5079' N 001° 30.3863' E 55° 07.3413' N 001° 32.3028' E 55° 06.2748' N 001° 32.8528' E 55° 07.0080' N 001° 30.8863' E 55° 08.2245' N 001° 29.0531' E 55° 08.3911' N 001° 26.6367' E The Area 466 North West Rough application was submitted in July 2009 under the Environmental Impact Assessment and Natural Habitats (Extraction of Minerals by Marine Dredging) (England and Northern Ireland) Regulations 2007. On 6 April 2011 these regulations were revoked and marine mineral extraction is now regulated under The Marine Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2007 (as amended). Part 3, Chapter 3, 18 (1) of these Regulations states this application has effect as if it were a marine licence application under Part 4 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The MMO will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
