Notice is hereby given that Banks Renewables (Lethans East Wind Farm) Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Acts with company number 08332209 and having its registered office at Inkerman House, St Johns Road, Durham, DH7 8XL, has applied to the Scottish Ministers under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 for consent to construct and operate the Lethans Wind Farm Extension on land approximately 9.5 kilometres (km) northeast of New Cumnock and approximately 9 km to the north-west of Sanquhar in East Ayrshire (National Grid Reference (NGR) E 271920, N 618215). It will have a generating capacity exceeding 50MW and will comprise of up to 10 three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbines, seven with a maximum height from base to tip that will not exceed 251 m and three with a maximum height of 235 m (with the blade in the vertical position). The proposed development is subject to Environmental Impact Assessment and the applicant has had an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report produced.
Banks Renewables (Lethans East Wind Farm) Limited has also applied for a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.

Written or emailed representations should be dated, clearly stating the name (in block capitals), full return email and postal address of those making
will receive acknowledgement.
All representations should be received not later than 18 February 2022, although the Scottish Ministers may consider representations received after this date.
Any subsequent additional information which is submitted by the applicant will be subject to further public notice in this manner, and representations to such information will be accepted as per this notice.
As a result of a statutory objection from the relevant planning authority, or where the Scottish Ministers decide to exercise their discretion to do so, the Scottish Ministers can also cause a Public Local Inquiry (PLI) to be held.
Following examination of the environmental information, the Scottish Ministers will determine the application for consent in two ways:
* Consent the proposal, with or without conditions attached; or
* Reject the proposal.
