WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
(LONGMOOR LANE, MORTIMER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2022
West Berkshire District Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Longmoor Lane in Mortimer between its junction with Burghfield Road and its junction with Windmill Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Windmill Road, victoria Road, Burghfield Road, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for BT to carry out pole replacement.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 24th January 2022. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between the hours of 08.00 to 16.00 on the 28th January 2022. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected.
