HARDOWN HILL COMMON NOTICE OF WESSEX WATER WORKS Wessex Water has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Hardown Hill Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State. The proposed works are essential upgrades to the drinking water supply network and help us identify and reduce leakage. Proposals require (i) installation of a new water meter complex requiring an excavation measuring 4m x 3m; (ii) temporary steel 'Heras' style security fencing with access gates; (iii) working width of 12m by 3m. The works will be located in the western side of the Common, on an area of track at the northern end of Verriott's Lane and the eastern end of Loves Lane in Morecombelake. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents showing the proposed works can be inspected at Felicity's Farm Shop, open between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Saturday and with parking available. The Farm Shop lies between Morcombelake and Chideock on the A35.
