ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ('the Council') has on 8 December 2021 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when they come into operation on 20 December 2021 will make permanent the following changes:-
Brighton & Hove (Valley Gardens) Traffic Management Order 2020 Amendment Order No.1 2021
- A prescribed route for all traffic except buses, taxis, private hire and pedal cycles at Marlborough Place, St Georges Place, St Peter's Place and York Place.
Brighton & Hove (Bus Lanes) Consolidation Order 2018 Amendment Order No.2 2021
- Bus Gates at Marlborough Place, St George's Place and York Place
- Bus Lane at St Peter's Place between Waterloo Place and Ditchling Road.
The changes described above were originally the subject of the following experimental traffic orders and their amendments: TRO-9-2020 advertised on 25 June 2020. TRO-9a-2020 advertised on 11 June 2021. TRO-20-2020 advertised on 18 September 2021. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
