TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 14th day of December 2021 in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the 16th day of December 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (2), (3), (4) & (5).
(1) COPPERGATE (CONTINUATION). YORK This Order continues in force The York (Coppergate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2020 (original Order) the effect of which is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles (with the exception of pedal cycles) from proceeding in the east bound traffic lane of Coppergate, York (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 15th day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 14th day of June 2022 (Danger period) or at a time when the social distancing measures are no longer needed whichever is the earlier.
(2) PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO 1/2/20. COPMANTHORPE This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Public Footpath No 1/2/20, Copmanthorpe between its junction with Fletcher's Croft and a location approximately 15 metres east of the East Coast Mainline Railway (closed footpath) during the period when railway track improvement works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 18th day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 9th day of January 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(3) GREAT NORTH WAY. NETHER POPPLETON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Great North Way, Nether Poppleton between the roundabout controlled junction with Hudson Way / Rose Avenue and a location approximately 65 metres south-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on the 24th day of December 2021 and ending at 0700hrs on the 27th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(4) CHANTRY LANE (CONTINUATION). BISHOPTHORPE This Order continues in force The Bishopthorpe (Chantry Lane) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2 2021 (original Order) the effect of which is (i) the prohibition of vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of closed road on Chantry Lane, Bishopthorpe (closed road) and (ii) the prohibition of vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on the eastern side of Bishopthorpe Road between Chantry Lane and the entrance to Bishopthorpe Palace (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 25th day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 4th day of March 2022 (works period) or at a time when the flood defence works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(5) MARYGATE. YORK
This Order continues in force The York (Earlsborough Terrace & Marygate) (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2021 (original Order) the effect of which is the prohibition of pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in (i) that length of footpath connecting Marygate Car Park and the riverside footpaths in front of Earlsborough Terrace between the railway line and No 14 Earlsborough Terrace (ii) that length of riverside footpaths (including Dame Judi Dench Walk) in front of Earlsborough Terrace, York between the western-most boundary of Marygate and No 14 Earlsborough Terrace and (iii) that length of riverside footpath connecting Marygate with Esplanade Court in front of property No's 13 - 18 Esplanade Court (closed footpaths) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 17th day of December 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 2nd day of February 2022 (works period) or at a time when the flood defence works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
