Temporary Closure of A3052 Bridge Street, Lyme Regis
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A3052 Bridge Street, Lyme Regis, between Coombe Street and Long Entry (in both directions), a distance of approximately 50metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 4 January 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18 February 2022. This Order will enable partnership working between Dorset Council and Lyme Regis Town Council.
This will allow Dorset Council to replace the traffic signals in the area, as well as allow the Town Council to carry out repairs to the Guildhall. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
