TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 11th day of November 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2) & (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) & (9).
(1) TOWTHORPE MOOR LANE. TOWTHORPE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Towthorpe Moor Lane, Towthorpe between its junction with Strensall Road and a location approximately 1700 metres east of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 15th day of November 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 26th day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1930hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) YEW TREE MEWS & OSBALDWICK VILLAGE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of road on Osbaldwick Village & Yew Tree Mews, York (i) between the junction of Osbaldwick Village and Moat Field and the junction of Osbaldwick Village and Derwent Way and (ii) between the junction of Yew Tree Mews and Osbaldwick Village and a location approximately 15metres north of said junction (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0915hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 19th day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed for the closure on Osbaldwick Village during the works period. There will be no diversion in place for the closure on Yew Tree Mews.
(3) ALDWARK. YORK (Continuation)
This Order continues in force The York (Aldwark) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2021 (original Order) the effect of which is the prohibition of vehicles from proceeding in that length of closed road on Aldwark, York between its junction with St Andrewgate and a location approximately 20 metres south east of said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 1701 hours on the 12th day of November 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 19th day of November 2021 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(4) NORTH LANE. HAXBY
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on North Lane, Haxby between the western projected boundary of property No. 10 and the projected eastern boundary of property No. 30 (closed road) during the period when power grid works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 22nd day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) THE AVENUE. HAXBY
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on The Avenue, Haxby between its junction with York Road and the projected western boundary of Property No. 71 (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs and ending at 2130hrs on the 22nd day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) ALMERY TERRACE RIVERSIDE FOOTPATH. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians & vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of riverside footpath between the projected eastern boundary of property No. 1 Almery Terrace, York and the western projected boundary of property No. 13 Almery Terrace, York known as Footpath No. 55/138/20 (closed footpath) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0830hrs on the 22nd day of November 2021 and ending at 1730hrs on the 26th day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the route will only be closed between 0830hrs and 1730hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and cyclists will be signed during the works period.
(7) BLUE BRIDGE - TOWER STREET FOOTPATH. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians & vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath connecting Blue Bridge - Tower Street, York known as Footpath No. 55/226/10 (closed footpath) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs and ending at 2359hrs on the 22nd day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period. The footpath and cycleway between Blue Bridge Road and South Esplanade will remain open.
(8) ST MARY'S LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on St Mary's Lane, York between the projected south-western boundary of Property No. 6 and a location approximately 30 metres north east of said boundary (closed road) during the period when power grid works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 24th day of November 2021 and ending at 1700hrs on the 26th day of November 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(9) FOOTPATH TO REAR OF JASMINE CLOSE. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians & vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath from Alder Way, York around the rear of property No's 2-17 Jasmine Close, York (closed footpath) during the period when footpath resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 22nd day of November 2021 and ending at 1600hrs on the 24th day of December 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
