WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

(PURLEY LANE, PURLEY-ON-THAMES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2021

West Berkshire District Council has made an Order In accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Purley Lane in Purley-on-Thames between its junction with Reading Road and its junction with Nursery Gardens. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Nursery Gardens, Reading Road, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for contractors to install fibre broadband.

The proposed Order will come into effect on 8th November 2021. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place during the hours of 08.00 and 18.00 each day, between 8th and 10th November 2021. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected.
