Temporary Closure of Newstead Road, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along NEWSTEAD ROAD, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Abbotsbury Road and its junction with Knightsdale Road, a distance of approximately 220 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 4 November 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2 December 2021.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to replace burst water main and move valve. Please note that the works will be carried out in phases and the whole extent will not be closed all the time.
An alternative route will be signed using: Newstead Road - Westway Road -Abbotsbury Road.

Temporary Closure of Church Road, Silton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Church Road, Silton, from the junction of Fantley Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 200 metres west from this point. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8 November 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 November 2021.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out replacement of stour small flood culvert and excavation in the highway.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Bushes Hill - Pierston Fields - Martin's Lane - Fantley Lane. Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 -Section 23 Buxton Road, Weymouth

1. Dorset Council in exercise of powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intend to alter and upgrade the existing Puffin Crossing on Buxton Road, Weymouth.
