(Glaisnock Street, Cumnock} (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2021
On 26/10/21 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order that continues the restrictions imposed by Notice "East Ayrshire Council (Glaisnock Street, Cumnock) (Emergency Road Closure) Notice 2021", which would have expired at 24:00 hrs on 03/11/21, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on Glaisnock St, Cumnock, from its junction with Ayr Rd to its intersection with Townhead St (except for vehicles engaged in remedial works to protect the traveling public from an unstable structure), by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure. The Order shall come into force at 24:00 hrs on 03/11/21 until 24:00 hrs on 31/01/22, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed. Alternative Route: Diversion via Ayr Rd, New Bridge St, Tanyard, Barrhill Rd, Drumbrochan Rd and Townhead St and vice versa or via Ayr Rd, New Bridge St, Tanyard, Lugar St and Glaisnock St.
The authority is hopeful that the road closure will be replaced before the 31/01/22, with a one-way traffic system permitting traffic to proceed from Townhead St towards Ayr Rd. When the one-way Order is made it too will be advertised in the local press.
