Traffic Management - Verne Road and Buxton Road, Weymouth
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. The general effects of the Orders will be to:
- Introduce new lengths of no waiting at any time restrictions on sections of Verne Road.
- Introduce a one-way traffic restriction on a section of Verne Road from its south junction with Buxton Road to its south east junction with Buxton Road.

Temporary Closure of Friary Lane, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 25 October 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17 December 2021. This Order has been requested to allow JW Scaffolding Ltd access to erect scaffolding for contractors to carry out building repairs to the Kings Arms. The effect of the Order is as follows:
1. To impose temporary road closure on Friary Lane, Dorchester from the junction with B3150 High East Street to a point approximately 30 metres to the north (in both directions) a distance of approximately 30 metres. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using North Square and B3150 High East Street.
2. To suspend the one way order on Friary Lane from the junction with Orchard Street to the road clousre point to faciliate the diversion route.
3. To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on Orchard Street, Dorchester outside Friary Court. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
This restriction is required to enable temporary signals to be installed to allow safe access in to Friary Lane.

The Dorset Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map Based) (Amendment No. 21) (Hamm Beach Road, Portland) order 2021
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Dorset Council, having consulted with the chief officer of Dorset Police in exercise of the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2014 and all other powers so enabling have made the above-mentioned order.
2. When the Order comes into operation on 1 November 2021 the effect of the Order will continue in force indefinitely the provisions within the existing experimental traffic regulation order for Hamm Beach Road, Portland.

Temporary Closure of St Helen's Lane, Chilfrome
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along St Helens's Lane, Chilfrome at the railway bridge (in both directions), a distance of approximately 30 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 25th October 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 November 2021. This Order will enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, safe access to carry out refurbishment to the Bridge.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using St Helens Lane, Chilfrome Lane, A356, Church Road, Station Road, Cattistock Road and vice versa. Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2017
On 27 September 2021, an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above named order, as unopposed.
The effect of the order as confirmed will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding a Footpath in Weymouth:-
From its junction with the eastern end of Verlands Road, south of Pickwick at SY 70728319, east along a compacted tarmac/stone/gravel surfaced path, passing to the north of 30 Verlands Road to SY 70738319 and continuing east along the path (via SY 70768319) to the field boundary at SY 70808320. Continue east, entering the field and across a grass surfaced path, running parallel with the southern fence line to the field boundary at SY 70928321. Turn east south east, down a hill (known as Winslow Hill) and across a field to its junction with Footpath 27 and the A353 Preston Road at SY 71128317. The width varies: 6.25 metres at SY 70728319,7.8 metres at SY 70738319,3.7 metres at SY 70768319,3.6 metres at SY 70808320,2 metres at SY 70928321, narrowing to 1.2 metres at SY 71128317. Limitation: Gate at SY 70928321.

Temporary Closure of Ashley Road, Marnhull
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Ashley Road, Marnhull, between the junctions of Barnes Close and Carent Close, a distance of approximately 90 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 November 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 24 November 2021.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to redirect a sewer connection in the highway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: Philips Road - Ashley Road.
