Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services - Places Directorate of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Public Footpath Leigh No.99) (Temporary Closure) Order. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from using footpath Leigh No. 99 from Point A at its junction with Queensway nearly opposite Coronation Drive as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 367725 400759, west over Leigh Reclamation Land Holding then northwest to Point B at its junction with public footpath Leigh No. 98 as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 367434 400773 for a distance of approximately 315 metres and will be closed for a period of 6 months from 22nd October 2021. Please note there is no alternative route available. The Order is necessary to allow the safeguarding of the public, due to an underground fire below the reclamation site.

Bag Lane Atherton - Temporary Closure Order 2021 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Sen/ices of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Bag Lane Atherton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2021. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Bag Lane Atherton on 29/11/2021. The alternative route for traffic is:- there will be a local diversion in place. The Order is necessary to allow the rebuild of valve chambers on behalf of United Utilities.

Public Footpath Leigh No 162 And 181 (Part) -Temporary Diversion Order 2021 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure & Regulatory Services - Places Directorate of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Public Footpath Leigh No 162 and 181 (Part)) (Temporary Diversion) Order 2021. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, use footpath Leigh No 162 & 181 (part) from Point A as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 364666 399191 at the junction with public bridleway Leigh No. 155 to Point B as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 364986 399203 for a distance of approximately 355 metres in a generally easterly direction, and then south to Point C as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 365000 399178 for a distance of approximately 30 metres to the junction with public bridleway Leigh No. 322. There are two alternative routes available: ABDC - From Point A go east under the Atherleigh Way, then north for approximately 80 metres then east onto the pavement of Sale Way. Follow Sale Way east along the path past Point B for approximately 130 metres to Point D as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 365133 399247 then west along public bridleway Leigh No. 322 to Point C. AEFG - From Point A head south along public bridleway Leigh No. 155 to Point E as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 364612 398883 for a distance of approximately 313 metres to the access road. After approximately 23 metres south east on the road head north east under the Atherleigh Way and follow public bridleway Leigh No. 322 to Point F on the Order Map at grid reference 364877 399084 for a distance of approximately 396 metres, then head north west to Point G on the Order Map at grid reference 364827 399148 for a distance of approximately 80 metres.

This public footpath will be closed for a period of 6 weeks commencing on 21st October 2021. The Order is necessary to safeguard the public whilst improvement works are carried out to the public rights of way network. Sections of the closed footpaths will be opened up and closed as appropriate.
Twist Lane Leigh - Temporary Closure Order 2021 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Twist Lane Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2021. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Twist Lane Leigh on 06/10/2021. The alternative route for traffic is:- a local diversion will be in place. The Order is necessary to allow to replace a worn fire hydrant box. Dated this 14th day of October 2021
