NORTH YORK MOORS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) Footpath 13 (Cleveland Way) OSMOTHERLEY Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) (as amended)

The North York Moors National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to make the following closure in the parish of Osmotherley in the District of Hambleton:
No pedestrian shall proceed along footpath 13 Osmotherley, commencing at Grid Reference (GR) SE 4612 9712 (point A) at the footpath junction east of Cod Beck, going generally west over Cod Beck and on to Back Lane Osmotherley at GR SE 4569 9721 (Point B); a total distance of 500 metres.
The alternative route is to take footpath 20 south and south-west for 521 metres past Osmotherley Mill, turn west up Middlestye Bank for 248 metres, turn north up South End for 375 metres and turn east into Back Lane for 30 metres and north for 119 metres to the point of closure at GR SE 4569 9721 (Point B) and return; a total distance of 1293 metres.
The closure will be put into effect by means of the erection of notices and signs.
The Order is necessary due to danger to the public from a collapsing wall at Birch Tree Cottage. Rebuilding the wall is expected to be completed by 28 March 2014 at the latest.
