There is no suitable alternative route for pedestrians affected by the closure. The proposed Order will come into operation on 8 October 2021, as signed, with a maximum duration of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the soonest.
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNCIL
(ELECTRIC SCOOTER) EXPERIMENTAL (MODIFICATION) (No. 2)
TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2021
PUBLIC NOTICE
On the 29th September 2021 Buckinghamshire Council ("the Council") made the above mentioned Order ("the Experimental Order") under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and after consultation with Thames Valley Police.
The effect of the Experimental Order is to extend the operation of the Electric Scooters trials as authorised by the Department for Transport within the County of Buckinghamshire. Whilst the Experimental Order is in force the relevant Traffic Regulation Orders in force within the boundary of the Council shall continue to be varied so as to permit Electric Scooters to travel in the cycle lanes and cycle tracks as specified in the Schedule of the Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2020 (as amended by the Experimental Modification Order 2021), providing that Electric Scooters will not be permitted for use on any highway in the county with a signed speed limit of 50mph or more.
The above Experimental Order comes into operation on 1st October 2021 for a period of six months and, in this time, the Council will continue to consider if the provisions of the Experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of 6 months from the date of this Notice or if the Experimental Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Act 1984 ("the Act") beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest version of the variation or modification comes into force, any person may object to the making of the Experimental Order for the purpose of its indefinite continuation. If you wish to object please send your grounds for objection in writing to
or to Transport for Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury Vale Area Office, Corrib Industrial Park, Griffin Lane, Aylesbury, HP19 8BP.
Full details are contained in the Experimental Order which together with a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order may be examined on the Council's website at
.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the Experimental Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or that are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may within six weeks from the date of this Notice apply for that purpose to the High Court.
The Council intends to make Buckinghamshire Council (Wethered Drive, Burnham and Candlemas Mead, Beaconsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order, 2021 which will temporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding, except for access, in Wethered Drive and Candlemas Mead in their entire lengths. Alternative route 1: Wethered Drive and vice versa. Alternative route 2: Candlemas Mead and vice versa. The closure is required whilst resurfacing works take place commencing on 11 October 2021. PLEASE NOTE: The full duration of this multi-order is to allow coordination of a number of works, and flexibility given their weather dependant nature. The actual times that each road will be closed for will be much less. The proposed Order will come into operation on 11 October 2021, as signed, with maximum 18 months duration.
