THE A19 TRUNK ROAD
(BLACK SWAN INTERCHANGE TO PARKWAY INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways
England Company Limited has made an Order
on the A19 Trunk Road, in the Counties of
North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough & Stockton,
to enable resurfacing, bridge parapet repairs
and routine maintenance works to be carried
out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Sunday 3 October 2021 for 6 weeks or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, overnight between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works to:
(i) close the A19 northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Black Swan Interchange to the entry slip road at the A174 Parkway Interchange, a distance of 12645 metres;

(ii) close the A19 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at the A174 Parkway Interchange to the entry slip road at Black Swan Interchange, a distance of 12800 metres;

(iii) close the A19 northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads at the A67 Crathorne Interchange;

(iv) close the A19 southbound entry slip road at the A174 Parkway Interchange;

(v) close the A19 southbound entry slip from Crathorne Village;

(vi) close the gaps in the central reservation at the lengths of A19 as mentioned in (i) and (ii); and

(vii) ban traffic from entering and leaving the A19 northbound carriageway at Green Lane.

During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works to, impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A19:
(viii) northbound carriageway from Black Swan Interchange overbridge to the entry slip road at the A67 Crathorne Interchange, a distance of 5010 metres;

(ix) southbound carriageway from 600 metres north of the A67 Crathorne Interchange overbridge to 500 metres south of Picton Village Junction, a distance of 5100 metres; and

(x) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at the A67 Crathorne Interchange.

It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works to close the laybys adjacent to the lengths of A19 as mentioned in (i) and (ii).
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or winter maintenance purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A19. The Order comes into force on
2 October 2021 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
