THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (BOATHOUSE LANE INTERCHANGE TO MIDDLESBROUGH
ROAD INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways
England Company Limited has made an Order
on the A66 Trunk Road, in the County of
Stockton-On-Tees, to enable traffic loop works
to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Sunday
3 October 2021 for 2 nights, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, from Monday

4 October 2021, to close, between 8pm and 5am, the A66 eastbound:

(i) carriageway from the exit slip road at the A135 Boathouse Lane Interchange to the entry slip road at Middlesbrough Road Interchange, a distance of 2000 metres;

(ii) the eastbound entry slip road at Boathouse Lane Interchange; and

(iii) the eastbound exit slip road at the A1045 Thornaby Road Interchange.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will be necessary to close, for 24 hours a day starting at 8pm on Sunday 3 October 2021 for the duration of the works, the layby situated adjacent to the A66 eastbound carriageway approximately 460 metres east of the exit slip road at Thornaby Road Interchange. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
