ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (LONG NEWTON INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways
England Company Limited has made an Order
on the A66 Trunk Road, in County Durham and
Cleveland, to enable horticulture works to be
carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Thursday 30 September 2021 for 1 night, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A66 westbound exit and entry slip roads at Long Newton Interchange; during which times suitably signed alternative routes will be available. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties which are accessible from, and only from, the A66. The Order comes into force on 29 September 2021 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
