Temporary Closure of Fontmell Hill, Ashmore
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Fontmell Hill, Fontmell Magna from outside Manor Farm, High Street to the junction with Spread Eagle Hill. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 11 October 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 February 2022.
The closure has been requested to allow Wessex Water to Install approximately 2,600m of 125mm Water Main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Noade Street, North Street, Possessions Corner, Spread Eagle Hill and vice versa.
