TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 16th day of September 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1) & (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5) & (6).
(1) BOOTHAM & GILLYGATE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of road on (i) Gillygate, York and (ii) Bootham, York between the junctions with Gillygate and Burton Stone Lane (closed roads) during the period when traffic signal works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 19th day of September 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 22nd day of October 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that Bootham will be closed between 1900hrs and 2300hrs each night between the dates of 19th September 2021 and 7th October 2021. Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained at all times. Additionally, all footpaths around the junction of Bootham, Gillygate, St Leonard's Place and High Petergate will be subject to closure for 45metres in each direction from said junction (closed footpaths) and all stopping, waiting and loading at the taxi rank on the south-western bound carriageway of St Leonard's Place between the Junction with Bootham and a location approximately 25metres south west of said junction will be suspended (restricted vehicle movement) and parking suspensions will be in place on both sides of Burton Stone Lane, York (a) between the junctions with Lumley Road and Cromer Street and (b) between the junctions of Field View and Crichton Avenue (suspension areas).
(2) SCARCROFT ROAD & SCARCROFT HILL. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on (a) Scarcroft Road, York between the projected western boundary of property No 52 and a location approximately 150 metres south east of the junction with The Mount, York and (b) Scarcroft Hill, York between the junction with Scarcroft Road and a location approximately 15 metres south west of said junction (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 20th day of September 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 24th day of September 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1930hrs each night and 0500hrs the following morning.
(3) BOROUGHBRIDGE ROAD - ALBION AVENUE. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath between Boroughbridge Road, York and Albion Avenue/ Portal Road (closed footpath) during the period when drainage works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 25th day of September 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 28th day of September 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(4) CEMETERY ROAD. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Cemetery Road, York between the junctions with Winterscale Court and Fulford Road (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 29th day of September 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 1st day of October 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1930hrs each night and 0500hrs the following morning.
(5) STRIPE LANE. SKELTON
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Stripe Lane, Skelton between the junction with A19 Shipton Road and a location approximately 340metres south west of said junction (closed road) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 27th day of September 2021 and ending at 1600hrs on the 1 st day of October 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) CHURCH LANE. YORK
This Orderwill prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Church Lane, York(closed road)during the period when building maintenance works are being undertaken nearby, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 27th day of September 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 4th day of October 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
