ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A64 TRUNK ROAD [BULL PIECE LANE TO MALTON ROAD)
[TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways
that Highways
England Company Limited has made an
Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the District
of Ryedale, to enable resurfacing, road
marking, studs, loop detection, patching,
gull level adjustment/strengthening and kerb
replacement works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 20 September 2021 for 4 weeks or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, from Monday 20 September 2021 overnight between 8pm and 6am until completed, and from Friday 24 September 2021 at 8pm until Monday 26 September 2021 at 6am and between the same times over subsequent weekends, at times during the works, to:
(i) Impose a temporary 10mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways from 161 metres east of Collinsons Lane to 700 metres east of Pine Tree Avenue, a distance of 1583 metres; The 10mph limit will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle.

(ii) close the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways from Bull Piece Lane to the B1258 Malton Road, a distance of 4940 metres;

(iii) close the A64 eastbound carriageway from the exit to the entry slip road at A169 Pickering Interchange, a distance of 664 metres;

(iv) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways at its junction with the St Andrews Court, Sands Lane, Pine Tree Avenue and the unnamed road leading to Rillington Eastside;

(v) close the footway adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway from their junction with the Low Moorgate to their junction with the unnamed road leading to Sands Lane, a distance of 786 metres;

(vi) close the footway adjacent to the A64 westbound carriageway from its junction with Low Moorgate to 197 metres east of Pine Tree Avenue, a distance of 560 metres.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works:
(vii) from 00:01 on Monday 20 September 2021, to close the laybys adjacent to the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways as described in the above mentioned (ii) and (iii).

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or winter maintenance purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property, which is accessible from, and only from, the A64.
