THE A64 TRUNK ROAD

[TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable bridge works, waterproofing, expansion joint replacement and resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable bridge works, waterproofing, expansion joint replacement and resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Friday 17 September 2021 and take place between 8pm Friday and 6am Monday. If necessary works will continue between the same times over subsequent weekends until completed.
The effect of the order will be, at times during the works, to:
(i) close the A64 carriageway from its junction with Staxton Roundabout to its junction with Seamer Roundabout; during which suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times; and

(ii) close the cycle tracks adjacent to the A64 carriageway from 50 metres west of Flixton Carr underbridge eastwards for a distance of 100 metres; during which cyclists will be escorted through the works.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A64.
