A34 TRUNK ROAD (HINKSEY HILL, OXFORD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1 )(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent traffic incursion into works being undertaken on an adjoining road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of the road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A34 at Hinksey Hill Interchange (A423). This measure would be in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council undertake carriageway works on Hinksey Hill roundabout and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 1 night starting on or after Monday 4th October 2021. The overnight closure would take place between 20:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 2nd October 2021 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic wishing to leave the A34 would be diverted northbound on the A34 to Botley Interchange (A420) and return. Traffic approaching from the southbound A34 or the A423 requiring access to Hinksey Hill would be diverted southbound on the A34 to Oxford Road Interchange (A4183) to use Oxford Road, or if requiring the A34, the northbound A34. All traffic management is under the control of Oxfordshire County Council. The temporary closure and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
