Temporary Traffic Orders

5) From 0500 hours on Thursday 16 September 2021 until approx. 2200 hours on Monday 20 September 2021 no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Dover Road, East Cowes from the Well Road roundabout to the end of the surfaced highway except in the following situations:-

A - If directed or with the permission of a uniformed Police Officer. B - To enable a vehicle including that of a Statutory Undertaker to be used in connection with any building operation or demolition, the removal of any obstruction to traffic, laying erection, alteration or repair in or near the road of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of Gas, Water or electricity or a telegraphic line as defined in Schedule 2 of the Telecommunications Act 1984.
C - An emergency service vehicle (Fire and Rescue, Ambulance or Police vehicles).
D - For the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to the above sections of Dover Road or Castle street, when permitted to do so by a uniformed Police officer or an Isle of Wight Council Traffic Management Officer. E - To enable a vehicle that is being used to check, maintain or replace any sign, barrier or cone that has been placed in accordance with The Isle of Wight Festival Traffic Management Plan.
F - To enable a vehicle to exit from the Southampton to East Cowes Red funnel ferry or ferry marshalling area (in a south-easterly direction). Please note there is no alternative route for traffic. The existing on-street taxi rank adjacent to the end of the surfaced highway will be suspended whilst this order is in operation and a temporary taxi and drop-off area will be provided in Castle Street, East Cowes (near to the junction with Well Road).
6) From 0500 hours until 2300 hours on Monday 20 September 2021 no non-freight vehicle shall proceed along the lay-by on the west side of the A3021 Whippingham Road, Whippingham (the side opposite Whippingham estate) unless directed by a Traffic Marshall. This lay-by is located approx. between 141 meters and 225 meters north of the junction with Beatrice Avenue. This Order is required in connection with the Isle of Wight Music Festival, and is necessary to provide a temporary freight traffic marshalling area.

The provisions of this Order are in the interests of road and pedestrian safety due to the Isle of Wight Festival and shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the current edition of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Roads, Newport, East Cowes, and Whippingham, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Waiting Restrictions) Order No. 1. 2021
The Isle of Wight Council gives notice that from 1000 hours on Wednesday 15 September 2021 until 1800 hours on Monday 20 September 2021, no waiting at any time waiting restrictions will be introduced in the following roads or parts of roads: - A): Alverstone Road - the whole length of the road, B): Beatrice Avenue - The whole length of the road. C): Cambridge Road, East Cowes - 1): from a point opposite the party
wall of Nos. 21 and 23 Cambridge Road to a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 23 and 25 Cambridge Road 2): from the northern kerb line of Old Road north-westward for a distance of 38 meters. D): Castle Street, East Cowes - the whole length of the road, E): East Cowes Road - the whole length of the road. F): Fairlee Road, Newport, including all lay-bys, footpaths and verges along the whole length of the road. G): Heathfield Close, Newport - the whole length of the road, H): Long Lane, Newport - the south side, from its junction with Staplers Road to its junction with Landscape Lane. I): Maresfield Road, East Cowes from its junction with Cambridge Road and the southern boundary of No. 31 Maresfield Road. J): Quay Street, Newport - the whole length of the road, K): Racecourse, Newport, including all lay-bys, footpaths and verges along the whole length of the road. L): Sea Street Newport - the whole length of the road, M): School Lane Newport, the east side, from the southern kerb-line of Staplers Road to the northern kerb-line of Highfield Road. N): Seaclose Park Access Road, Newport - the whole length of the road, O): Staplers Road Newport - from its junction with Fairlee Road to its junction with Heathfield Close, Newport including the Pan Meadows gyratory. P): Whippingham Road, Whippingham, from its junction with Racecourse/ Lushington Hill to a point 133 meters north-west of the north-western kerb-line of East Cowes Road
The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for Fire and Rescue, Ambulance or Police purposes.
This Order is required in connection with the interests of road safety due to the Isle of Wight Music Festival event. The provisions of this Order shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the current edition of the
Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Roads, Newport, Isle of Wight)
(Temporary Prohibition of Cyclists and Pedestrians) Order No. 1.2021
The Isle of Wight Council give notice that in the interests of public safety due to the Isle of Wight Music Festival that it will make the following closures in respect of pedestrians and cyclists as follows :-
A) from 0600 hours on Monday 06 September 2021 until 0600 hours on Thursday 23 September 2021.

1.) Cycle Track leading off Footpath N120, Newport from Footpath N120 to the junction with A3054 Fairlee Road.
2.) Public Footpath N120, Newport from the northern end of Jubilee Stores to a point 2230 meters north thereof (at the sluice gates at Island Harbour Marina).
B) from 0700 hours on Wednesday 15 September 2021 until 1200 hours on Monday 20 September 2021.

1) Seaclose Park access road, Newport from its junction with A3054 Fairlee Road to The Quay.
C) from 1700 hours on Friday 17 September 2021 to 0600 hours on Monday 20 September 2021.

1) The Quay, Newport from the Riverside Centre car park access road to the northern end of Jubilee Stores.
The provisions of this Order shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the current edition of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.
The Isle of Wight Council (Church Litten, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of Traffic Regulation) Order No. 1 2021
The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Thursday 16 September 2021 until 1500 hours on Monday 20 September 2021, the Isle of Wight Council will temporarily revoke the Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newport) (Traffic Regulation) Order No 1 2012 in relation to the 'No Loading At Any Time' parking restriction on Church Litten on the western side of the carriageway between Litten Park superstores entrance and 'Church Litten Gate'. The revocation is required to allow the buses operating on a local bus service to operate from Church Litten to the Isle of Wight Festival. The Isle of Wight Council (Church Litten, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Bus Stand Clearway) Order No. 1 2021 The Isle of Wight Council gives notice that from 0900 hours on Thursday 16 September 2021 until 1500 hours on Monday 20 September 2021, a bus stand clearway order will be temporarily implemented on Church Litten on the western side of the carriageway between Litten Park superstores entrance and 'Church Litten Gate'. This order is required to allow the buses operating on a local bus service to operate from Church Litten to the Isle of Wight Festival. The provisions of this Order shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the current edition of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions. The Isle of Wight Council (A3021 Whippingham Road, Whippingham, and Racecourse, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Banned Right Turn) Order No. 1. 2021

The Isle of Wight Council gives notice that between 0700 hours on Thursday 16 September 2021 and 2300 hours on Monday 20 September 2021 no vehicles:-
A) Proceeding in a south-east bound direction along Whippingham Road will be able to turn right into East Cowes Road. The alternative route will be to continue along Whippingham Road, turn round at the Racecourse roundabout back into Whippingham Road and then turn left into East Cowes Road.

B) Leaving Festival White Car Park 3 located on the north-west side of Racecourse will be able to turn right into Racecourse. The alternative route will be to turn left into Racecourse, turn round at the Racecourse roundabout back into Racecourse.

This Order is required in connection with the interests of road safety and traffic flow due to the Isle of Wight Music festival event. The provisions of this Order shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the current edition of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.
