Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Lyme Regis
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, LYME REGIS; Colway Lane between its junctions with Pine Ridge and North Avenue, Roman Road between its junctions with South Avenue and Haye Lane, Haye Lane between its junctions with Roman Road and B3165 Lyme Road. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6 September 2021 between 0930 and 1600 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 1 November 2021. This Order will enable Western Power Distribution, safe access to carry out a large overhead line refurbishment project.
An alternative route will be signed using: Colway Lane: Manor Avenue - Anning Road - A3052 - Colway Lane; Roman Road: Haye Lane - Silver Street - B3165 -A3052 - Anning Road - South Avenue; Haye Lane: Lyme Road - B3165 - Haye Lane.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No 17, Symondsbury
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath No 17, from grid reference SY 461 922 to grid reference SY 459 920 a distance of approximately 400 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 2 September 2021, for a period of 26 weeks. But it may be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
The order is required to allow construction works to be undertaken safely. On this occasion there is no reasonable alternative route.
