SANQUHAR II COMMUNITY WIND FARM

SECTION 36 APPLICATION FOR THE DESIGN, INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND DECOMMISSION OF A WIND FARM COMPRISING OF 42 WIND TURBINES WITH A MAXIMUM BLADE TIP HEIGHT OF 200M AND 2 WIND TURBINES HAVING A MAXIMUM BLADE TIP HEIGHT OF 149M. NOTICE OF INQUIRY AND HEARING SESSIONS TO BE HELD AS PART OF THE PUBLIC INQUIRY

Scottish Ministers have appointed Christopher Warren BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI to consider and submit a report to them on an application under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the design, installation, operation and decommission of the Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm on land 6.5 Km west Of Sanquhar, 4Km south Of Kelloholm and 14Km northwest Of Thornhill, in Dumfries & Calloway and East Ayrshire. The proposed wind farm comprises of 42 wind turbines with a maximum blade tip height of 200m and 2 wind turbines with a maximum blade tip height of 149m. The application (which is available to view on the DPEA web site) is subject to environmental impact assessment and is supported by the following environmental information:

? Supplemental Information volumes 1 - 4 (June 2021) The Reporter will hold a public inquiry to obtain more information on certain matters before they report to Scottish Ministers on the case. The matters to be considered during the virtual inquiry and hearing sessions are:

No other matters relevant to this case will be considered at the

inquiry and hearing sessions.

The virtual inquiry session 1 will begin on 04 October 2021 and will run for an estimated 5 days. Inquiry session 2 will begin on 18 October 2021 and will run for an estimated 3 days. On the first day of both weeks, the session will start at 10 am. Subsequent days will commence at 9.30 am and we will aim to conclude by no later than 5 pm each day. The virtual hearing sessions are expected to commence on 21 October 2021 at 10 am and will run for an estimated 2 days. Members of the public are not invited to participate virtually at this meeting and are instead encouraged to follow the proceedings via the recording of the video conference which will be released to the public.
