NOTICE is hereby given that Public Local Inquires in connection with the Orders mentioned below will be held by an Inspector appointed for the purpose by the Secretary of State for Transport beginning at 10.00 am on Tuesday 30 November 2021 at Highpoint Centre, Bursledon Road, Thornhill, Southampton, S019 8BR.
NOTICE is hereby given that a Pre-lnquiries Meeting will be held as a virtual event beginning at 14.00 pm on Friday 17 September 2021 where the Inspector will arrange the timetable for the proceedings in connection with the Orders named below. The right to make representations at the Public Local Inquiries will in no way be prejudiced by the inability to attend or be represented at the Pre-lnquiries Meeting.

THE INQUIRIES are being held to hear representations about the Orders from remaining objectors (as defined in the Compulsory Purchase (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 2007) and statutory objectors (as defined in the Highways (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 1994), from any other persons having an interest in the land the subject of the Compulsory Purchase Order and, at his discretion, to hear representations from any other persons who may desire to appear and be heard. THE ORDERS have been made by Highways England under the above-mentioned Acts and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation and are:
(1) THE HIGHWAYS ENGLAND (M27 SOUTHAMPTON JUNCTION 8 IMPROVEMENT SCHEME - M27 JUNCTION 8 AND WINDOVER ROUNDABOUT) (SPECIAL ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2021.
This is an Order under Sections 18 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980. (2). THE HIGHWAYS ENGLAND (M27 SOUTHAMPTON JUNCTION 8 IMPROVEMENT SCHEME - M27 JUNCTION 8 AND WINDHOVER ROUNDABOUT) (SPECIAL ROADS) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2021. This is an Order under Sections 239, 240, 246, and 260 of the Highways Act 1980 THE ORDERS relate to proposals for the improvement of the M27 slip roads, northbound exit slip road, northbound entry slip road, southbound exit slip road and southbound entry slip road, of Junction 8 of the M27 Motorway, on their approach and departure lengths to and from the A3024 M27 Junction 8 roundabout, at its junction with the A3024 (Bert Betts Way) and the C56 (Dodwell Lane) in the Parishes of Bursledon and Hedge End in the Borough of Eastleigh, in the County of Hampshire. COPIES of the above-mentioned and of the plans referred to therein have been deposited and may be seen at all reasonable hours free of charge at:
1. The offices of Highways England Company Limited, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, GU1 4LZ

2. Hedge End Library, 11 Upper Northam Road, Hedge End, Southampton SO30 4DY (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on Saturday 10.00 am to 1.00 pm; and

3. Thornhill Community Library, 328 Hinkler Road, Thornhill, Southampton S019 6DF (Monday 20.00 pm to 4.30 pm; and Friday 9.30 am-12.00 noon).

southampton-junction-8/. Copies of any proofs of evidence, sent to or by the promoting authority, will also be available made available via this link. PROCEEDINGS on the above-mentioned Orders are being taken concurrently by virtue of Section 257 of the Highways Act 1980. THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT hereby directs that any person who intends to submit at the Inquiries that any highway or proposed highway to which the Orders or either of them relate should follow an alternative route, or that, instead of improving, diverting or altering a highway to which the Orders or either of them relate, a new highway should be constructed on a particular route, shall send to him at Department for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR, not later than 9 November 2021, sufficient information about the alternative route or the route of the new highway, as the case may be, to enable it to be identified. Failure to comply with this direction will entitle the Secretary of State and the person holding the Inquiries to disregard so much of any objection as consists of such a submission.
