Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No. 17, Symondsbury
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL Intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath No 17, from grid reference SY 461 922 to grid reference SY 459 920 a distance of approximately 400 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 2 September 2021 for a period of 6 months. But it can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
The order is required to allow construction works to be undertaken safely.
On this occasion there is no reasonable alternative route.
