Overnight Temporary Closure of Royal Chase Roundabout, Shaftesbury
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Royal Chase Roundabout Shaftesbury (from each of its approaches). The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 20:00 until 06:00 on 31st August 2021 and remain in force for 18 months however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8th September 2021. The road(s) will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
Two diversion routes will be signed to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. The diversion route for traffic heading eastbound will go via A3S0, B3089, A30 and vice versa for westbound traffic. The diversion route for traffic heading southbound will go via A30, A357, A350 and vice versa for northbound traffic.
