LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(VARIOUS ROADS) (NO. 3)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021

1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate a programme of carriageway resurfacing and general maintenance works to be undertaken in the roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice, they have made an Order, the effect of which, during the works, will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, proceeding or waiting, including in any parking places, in those roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.

2. Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice will be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of roads.

3. During the works in Aberconway Road, vehicular traffic will be prohibited from proceeding westbound in Aberconway Road, between its junction with Bardney Road and its junction with London Road

4. The restrictions and suspensions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Alternative routes for diverted traffic will be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs on the roads affected when the works are in progress but will likely be those diversion routes specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice.

6. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) emergency service vehicles, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of roads insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

8. The Order will come into force on Monday 9th August 2021 and the anticipated works dates are specified in column 3 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order will remain in operation for a maximum period of 12 months and its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.

EFFRA ROAD. SW19 (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate deliveries to be made, loading and unloading, and equipment to be installed or removed at the Shree Ghanapathy Temple in Effra Road they have made an Order, the effect of which will be that no person will cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Effra Road which lies between Birkbeck Road and Haydon's Road in a direction other than west to east on the following dates:-
(a) Friday 6th August 2021;
(b) Saturday 7th August 2021;
(c) Sunday 8th August 2021;
(d) Friday 13th August 2021;
(e) Saturday 14th August 2021;
(f) Monday 16th August 2021.
NB: On Sunday 15th August 2021, between the hours of 7am and 5pm Effra Road will be closed to vehicular traffic under the provisions of an Order made under S.16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Access for residents will be maintained.

2. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

3. Vehicular traffic affected by the traffic restrictions above should proceed using Haydons Road, Queen's Road, Birkbeck Road, Edith Road and York Road.

4. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(b) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

5. The Order will come into operation on Friday 6th August 2021 and will remain in force until Monday 16th August 2021 inclusive.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
MERTON HALL ROAD. WIMBLEDON CHASE
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate water main works in Merton Hall Road, Wimbledon Chase, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the worksi:-
(a) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Merton Hall Road, Wimbledon Chase, between the common boundary of Nos. 79 and 81 Merton Hall Road and a point 7 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 83 and 85 Merton Hall Road;

(b) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above; and

(c) no person would enter or proceed in the footways in the length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Merton Hall Road specified in paragraph 2(b) above would be suspended for the duration of the works in that length of road.

4. The restrictions and suspensions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

(d) any person requiring pedestrian or vehicular access to the properties in the length of Merton Hall Road specified in paragraph 2(a) above, insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Henfield Road, Rayleigh Road Avebury Road or vice-versa.

7. Pedestrians affected by a footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.

8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

9. The Order would come into operation on Monday 23rd August 2021 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed by 27 August 2021. However, the Order would remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.
