TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1), 15(8) & 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 29th day of July 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9) & (10) Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered, (11), (12), (13) & (14).
(1) EBORACUM WAY. YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding along that length of footpath on the north eastern side of Eboracum Way, York between the junction with Layerthorpe and a location approximately 100 metres north of said junction (closed footpath) during the period when nearby development works are being undertaken, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 1 st day of August 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 21 st day of June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(2) GREENGALES LANE. WHELDRAKE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Greengales Lane, Wheldrake between a location approximately 15 metres south of the junction with North Lane and a location approximately 90 metres north of the junction with Broadlands (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 2nd day of August 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 5th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) OSBALDWICK VILAGE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Osbaldwick Village, York between its westernmost junction with Osbaldwick Lane and the junction with Galligap Lane (closed road) during the period when drainage works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0915hrs on the 2nd day of August 2021 and ending at 1700hrs on the 1 st day of October 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, a parking suspension will be in place on both sides of Osbaldwick Lane between the junctions with Murton Way and Thirkleby Way (restricted road). It is expected that phased road and footpath closures will be in place between 0915hrs and 1700hrs on weekdays only. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) BRAMHAM ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Bramham Road, York between the junctions with Bramham Avenue and Barkston Avenue (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 2nd day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) MARYGATE LANE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on i) Marygate Lane, York between the junction with Frederick Street and the junction with the railway walk footpath from the Esplanade to Marygate Lane and ii) the adjacent road between the south western ends of St Mary's and St Mary's Lane (closed roads) during the period when tree works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 2nd day of August 2021 and ending at 1700hrs on the 3rd day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, a suspension of 10 car parking bays will be in place across the north eastern edge of Marygate Car Park, York. It is expected that the roads will be reopened overnight between 1700hrs and 0800hrs the following morning. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6) SIM BALK LANE. BISHOPTHORPE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Sim Balk Lane, Bishopthorpe between the junction with Lang Road and the projected southern boundary of property No. 21 (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 4th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period
(7) MURTON FOOTPATH 30/1/10. MURTON (Continuation)
This Order continues in force The Murton (Murton Footpath No 30/1/10) Temporary Traffic Restrictions prohibiting pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of public footpath, known as Murton No. 30/1/10 (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1st day of August 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 31 st day of January 2022 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that ongoing bridge repair works can be carried out safely.
(8) MURTON FOOTPATH 30/9/10. MURTON (Continuation)
This Order continues in force The Murton (Murton Footpath No 30/9/10) Temporary Traffic Restrictions prohibiting pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of public footpath, known as Murton No. 30/9/10 between the junctions with Murton No. 30/10/10 and Moor Lane, Murton (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1st day of August 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 31st day of January 2022 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that ongoing bridge repair works can be carried out safely.
(9) SKELTON FOOTPATH 11/6/10. SKELTON (Continuation)
This Order continues in force The Skelton (Skelton Footpath No. 11/6/10) Temporary Traffic Restrictions prohibiting pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of public footpath, known as Skelton No. 11/6/10 (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1st day of August 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 31 st day of January 2022 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that ongoing bridge repair works can be carried out safely.
(10) STRENSALL FOOTPATH 3/13/10. STRENSALL (Continuation)
This Order continues in force The Strensall (Strensall Footpath No 3/13/10) Temporary Traffic Restrictions prohibiting pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of public footpath, known as Strensall Footpath No 3/13/10 between the junctions with Strensall No. 3/17/10 and Strensall No. 3/10/10 (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 1 st day of August 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 31 st day of January 2022 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that ongoing bridge repair works can be carried out safely.
(11) CARMELITE STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Carmelite Street, York (closed road) during the period when building works are being undertaken nearby, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 11th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles and pedestrians will be signed during the works period
(12) HAXBY ROAD. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on both sides of Haxby Road, York between the projected northern boundary of property No 10 and a location approximately 65metres north of said boundary (closed footway) during the period when traffic signal refurbishment are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 9th day of August 2021 and ending at 1700hrs on the 27th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
(13) WATER LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Water Lane, York between the northern extended boundaries of property No's 111 and 163 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 9th day of August 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 12th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. It is expected that the road will only be closed each night between 1930hrs and 0500hrs the following morning.
(14) MARYGATE LANE FOOTPATH. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Marygate Lane, York between the junctions with Bootham Terrace and Frederic Street and including a section of Railway Walk from the junction with Marygate Lane to a location 60 metres south west of said junction (closed footpath) during the period when electricity grid works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 9th day of August 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 13th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
